- Shutdown - This button brings up a dialog to choose to shutdown
The Hot Mix. You also have an option to shutdown the computer as
well.
- Standby - This button minimizes The Hot Mix into a smaller
window so you can operate Windows still while playing music.
- Config Options - This button brings up a dialog with
configuration options you can set for The Hot Mix.
- More Menu - Brings up additional buttons
Track Plays - Clicking this button toggles the track plays option.
If you select not to track plays when you are playing the songs don't get
recorded as played. This option can be disable by clicking the
button again.
Auto-DJ List - Clicking this button assigns the current visible
list as the list for Auto-DJ to grab songs from when needed.
Refresh Songs - Clicking this button will start the refresh of
songs for the Media Paths. Once clicked you can view the progress of
the refresh by clicking the "More" button again and where the Refresh Song
button once was will be details of the current refresh.
Manage Watch List - This button will bring up a dialog where you
can manage the songs in your Watch List. See more about this in the
Manage Watch List section of the help.
Clear Playlist - Clicking this button will remove all songs from
the visible list. These following playlists cannot be cleared.
The songs need to be removed one at a time. Searches, Notes, Watch
List, Library, New Songs, Favorites, and Most Played cannot be cleared.
Load Saved Playlist - This button brings up a dialog with all your
saved playlists. You can then choose a playlist and load it into the
visible list. These lists cannot have playlists loaded into them.
Searches, Most Played, Library, Favorites, New Songs, Notes, and Watch
List. You may also use the "Remove" button of this dialog to delete
a saved playlist.
Save Playlist As - This button brings up a dialog where you can
name the playlist. The visible list is the list being saved.
If you have a playlist of the same name you just typed in it will give you
a checkbox where you can check to overwrite that file. Once saving
is complete that playlist will now show up in the Load Saved Playlist
dialog mentioned above.
Play History - This button brings up a dialog of songs played
throughout the history of that Profile. You can select from the
available dates in the drop down list. To remove a certain day or
recorded plays you may select the "Remove" button.
Mix Up This List - This button will randomize the current list.
The more songs in the current list the longer it will take. You may
set a limit in the Config Options to prevent this from happening at the
wrong time. Like when your DJing.
- Song Info - Brings up buttons pertaining to the selected song
in the list.
Overview - This brings up a dialog with a list of fields unique for
that song
Comments - This is a unique The Hot Mix feature where you can put a
critical comment on a song. Say if the song ends prematurely for a skit at
the end of a song you can then put a critical comment in here and every
time you load the song into one of the players it will have a red message
saying what you type in this box.
MP3 Info - This brings up a dialog where you can edit the Title,
Artist, Genre, etc. of the selected song.
Cue Info - This brings up a dialog where you can create a cue point
for a song. You have 5 available cue points but most of the time you
use one and set it as default. Once you set it as default you can
then load that song into either player and it will auto cue to that point
so you don't have to fast forward the song over a skit in a certain song.
Loop Info - This brings up a dialog where you can edit and create
loops for the selected song. Using the set start and set stop while
playing you can create simple loops. You can tweak the start and
stop points by using the plus and minus buttons. This may take a bit
to get the hang of but once you learn it you will be happy and use it to
loop some hooks and such.
Requests - This is only available for the next generation of The
Hot Mix.
Plays - This button brings up a dialog of every time that song was
recorded played. Sometimes its nice to know when you started playing
a song to show off you were playing it before it got popular.
- Remove - This button will remove the selected song in the
visible list. If you select this option in the Library or Searches
it will prompt you to completely delete this file from your hard drive.
All other lists just removes it from that list and still leaving the file
on your system.
- Send To - This button brings up a dialog where you can select
where to send the selected song in the list. You can send it to many
different playlists.
- MP3 Info - This is the same dialog as in Song Info but an
easier way to access it. Here you can edit the Title, Artist and
Genre of the selected song.
- Load Player 1 and Load Player 2 - This button loads the
selected song into the corresponding player. Playback needs to be
stopped before loading is successfull.
- Playlist Left and Right Arrows - These buttons will change the
playlists left and right depending on which one you click. If you
don't feel like clicking through the playlists you can click on the
current lists title and you will see a list of all playlists and this way
you can just to which playlist you would like to.
- Playlist Scroll Buttons Up and Down - These buttons page up and
down the current list depending on if you press up or down. You can
use your right mouse button to click the up or down arrow and the selected
song will move up or down in the list. You can hold down the right
mouse button and the longer you hold the faster it moves that song up or
down until the top or bottom of the list is reached.
- Scoll Bar - This button is used as a reference to what
part of the playlist you are in. If you click anywhere in the
scrollbar you will immediately jump to that portion of the playlist.
Click and hold and go up and down to slowly browse the list. You may
also use the scroll wheel on your mouse to view the list also.
- Volume Button - This button brings up a small dialog where you
can adjust the master volume and also each players volume.
